Danny King, D.D.S.
Dr. Danny A. King is committed to providing your child with the latest and best quality pediatric dentistry in a fun and caring atmosphere.
Dr. King brings your child exceptional training and experience. He earned honors at the University of Tennessee, College of Dentistry. He went on to receive his specialist’s degree in Pediatric Dentistry at Baylor College of Dentistry. This training encompasses growth and development, child philosophy, behavior management, sedations, hospital dentistry, treatment of traumatic injuries, treating patients with special needs, and specialized areas unique to younger children and adolescents. While at Baylor’s well respected pediatric program, he was affiliated with Texas Scottish Rite Hospital and Children’s Medical Center of Dallas.
Dr. King is also an active member of some of the most respected organizations in the dental field, including the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Southeastern Society of Pediatric Dentists, American Dental Association, Georgia Dental Association, Georgia Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the Hinman Dental Society of Atlanta, and National Dental Advisory Board for United Concordia Dental Insurance Company.
Dr. King was chosen for the second consecutive year in a row as a Top Dentist in the Pediatric Specialty by his peers.
Dr. King is married and the proud father of two beautiful children. His interests include traveling, skiing, mountain biking and water sports.



Crystal Slaven, Dental Assistant
Hello, my name is Crystal Slaven. I’m a single mom of one loving and very energetic daughter. I graduated from Medix School in 2001 and I am a Certified Dental Assistant. I have been working in Pediatric dentistry since then. I have been assisting Dr. King since 2008. I love children and love being able to make a positive impact in their dental health, which carries on to their overall health. I enjoy the outdoors and playing sports. Staying active is very important for keeping up with my daughter and the wonderful children I get to interact with. I look forward to meeting you and your child and helping them achieve and maintain a wonderful and healthy smile.

 

Kristen Schneider, Dental Hygienist
My name is Kristen and I am originally from Ann Arbor Michigan. I graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor’s in Dental Hygiene. I lived and worked in Charlotte, NC Until I came to Georgia in 2006. I have been working here at Children’s Dental Zone since and I love it! I enjoy working with children. I have 5 nieces and nephews that I try to visit as much as I can. I enjoy serving our community through events and visiting local schools to give hygiene instruction. My hobbies include: scrapbooking, cooking, outdoor activates and involvement in my church.

 

Karen Smillie, Dental Hygienist
My name is Karen Smillie, (YES, LIKE “SMILEY!!!”), and I am a recent graduate of Clayton State University where I received my Bachelor's Degree in Dental Hygiene. Before attending Dental Hygiene school, I went to Georgia Southern University where I played softball on scholarship for two years. I am very blessed to have 2 young nephews who made me realize how much I love children and watching them grow and learn, and that is when I knew I would be happy working in a pediatric office. I consider myself so lucky to have found Dr. King and the team here at Children’s Dental Zone; this truly is my “dream job.” From the first day I started working here in 2009 everyone has made me feel very welcome, and I have the confidence that we can all do the same for you and your children. I look forward to getting to know each and every one of you!!!!


Lashawnda Davis- Matthews, Hygiene Assistant
Hello, my name is Lashawnda and I am the hygiene assistant. I recently graduated from the dental Assisting program at Everest institute. I actually started working here through my externship in 2009 and I enjoyed my time so much, that I decided to stay. I am very blessed to be here. Working in the dental field is something I have always wanted to do. My mom is also a Dental Assistant so I have been around dentistry all my life. Working with children is just icing on the cake. I am honored to be here and look forward to working and growing with your kids!

 

 

Bridgette Boykin, Practice Administrator
Hello, my name is Bridgette. I have had the pleasure of working at Children’s Dental Zone for almost 3 years. I met Dr. King before he opened his practice. I was pleased to find that he shared a lot of the same ideas about children and pediatric dentistry. I have enjoyed being a part of a vision that educates the parents and the children in just how important dental health is. I have been in dentistry for 13 years. I have found that Pediatric Dentistry has been the most fulfilling. I enjoy kids and all the wonderful things they have to say. I have two boys and three dogs who are always finding new adventures for me to pull them out of. I enjoy baseball, but I absolutely love football, both sports, though fill our evenings and weekends. With two busy boys, any spare time I have, I love to read and have taken up jogging.

 

Katherine Richardson, Patient Coordinator
Hello, my name is Katherine. I have always loved children, but after working at Children’s Dental Zone since 2006, I realize that their energy and happiness is contagious and brings a smile to my face. I have found I enjoy assisting our parents with whatever their administrative needs are, and ensuring their child (ren) stay on a routine hygiene schedule. I married my high school sweetheart, Jake, in May of 2006. We enjoy spending our spare time with friends and family seeing movies or just hanging out at the pool. I truly love spending time with my three nieces, and Jake and I are planning on starting our family in the near future. Until that time we are spoiling our puppy, Shelby.

 


Catherine Gavigan, Patient Coordinator
Hello, My Name is Catherine. In 2002 I graduated from Medix School as a certified Dental Assistant. I can’t believe how times flies when you are working with children. After seven years of assisting, I decided that I wanted to expand my knowledge. I was motivated to educate parents and children of the importance of early prevention. Children’s Dental Zone gave me opportunity to grow with the children by working in administration. Dr. King’s sense of humor and love of children, truly makes Children’s dental Zone an exceptional office. Our enthusiastic and professional team is a definite plus! You can’t miss me I’m the bright smile that greets you as you come in. I love being the first and last person you see. I can’t wait to meet you.



Stephanie Thao, Insurance Coordinator
Hello, my name is Stephanie. I just recently joined the Children’s Dental Zone team. I am very excited about being a part of this team because I am currently studying to become a Dental Hygienist. I am the person who verifies your insurance to ensure your child receives the best dental care they need. When I’m not working or studying, I enjoy reading and going fishing with my husband. I have really enjoyed working with children here at Children’s Dental Zone; so keep your eye out for me, I might just be your child’s next hygienist!
